Getting the look
Characters for children
- Winnie the Pooh: a red top, a golden yellow body or hoodie, and round ears. Add a honey pot to carry.
- Piglet: a pink outfit with a darker pink striped top, and small pointed ears.
- Tigger: orange with black stripes, a long tail and a big smile. Bouncing is part of the costume.
- Eeyore: grey with a pink bow on the tail. A droopy pose helps.
Characters for adults
Adults often do well with Christopher Robin: a simple jumper or shirt, shorts or trousers, and a red balloon. Owl and Rabbit also work, using brown or green clothes plus ears or a feathered detail. A pair or group looks best, for example one adult as Pooh and a child as Piglet.
Pooh and Eeyore are popular adult picks too. Keep it simple and comfortable, especially for a long day at work or school.
Finishing touches to make at home
- A honey pot: cover a small jar or tin with paper and write "HUNNY" on it in marker.
- Eeyore's tail: attach a grey strip of fabric to a safety pin or belt loop, then add a pink bow.
If you use face paint for a nose or whiskers, do a small skin test first.
Choosing the right size
Check the size chart for the costume you choose and measure against it, rather than guessing by age. If a child is between sizes, the larger one is usually easier to move in.
